Hassel is cited in Financial Times on why governments and employers need a more flexible response.
Anke Hassel, Professor of Public Policy at the Hertie School, is quoted in the Feb 21 issue of the Financial Times, saying that the welfare system has to become more flexible in order to respond to the changing needs of workers, especially those who develop long-term COVID-19-related illnesses.
“If you do get infected at work, is that a work-related injury?” she asks, citing the need to change the way we assess workplace hazards and employer responsibilities during a global pandemic.
